Travel by car on the asphalt road through Pavolche and Chelopek, which leads to the foot of Okolchitsa. A combined route can be used – car tourism with hiking. In such cases, the vehicle is used to reach the village of Pavolche. From there, take the rocky road to Okolchitsa, which starts after the school building. The road to the peak is 3 km long. Its steepest part is above the village of Pavolche. After about a kilometer of almost flat road, you will reach the fountain of the Krushovski Spring. In 20 minutes, the left path along the slope leads to the monument on Okolchitsa Peak.
The path to the southwest leads to the place where Hristo Botev died. After a narrow pass, almost a gorge, you reach the Selishte area. Turn left and climb the western slope of Kupena Peak. Cross the saddle between Kupena and Kamara, walking along its eastern slope, above the Yolkovitsa ravine, until you reach the place where Hristo Botev died. It is marked on a small rock with the inscription: “To the great Botev. Your prophecy has been fulfilled – you are alive! May 20, 1876.”
Visitors to the burial site descend through the Yolkivitsa valley and follow the markings along the rocky path and asphalt road to the monument on Okolchitsa peak. The walk takes 20 minutes.
